KEITH GRIFFIN: Avandia is a drug manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline that was released by Glaxo to treat diabetics and help to control their blood sugar levels.
TOM GIRARDI: After selling Avandia for many years, the FDA finally put a warning on Avandia, saying this can cause heart attack and stroke.
KEITH GRIFFIN: Avandia was approved by the FDA. Unfortunately, the FDA relies on information provided by the manufacturer GlaxoSmithKline when considering whether or not to approve a drug.
